MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

We offer comprehensive mentorship programs to various schools across Mombasa, spanning a six-month duration in each school. Our curriculum is meticulously designed in collaboration with school educators and mentors to address pertinent topics aimed at enhancing students’ social behaviour and academic performance.

We organize award ceremonies to recognize top-performing students and classes and appreciate schools that actively participate in our mentorship program. These ceremonies serve as a motivating factor for both students and educators.

To date, our mentorship and career program have successfully reached over 5,000 students across Mombasa, reflecting our commitment to fostering positive change and development within the community.

The schools we have successfully mentored are; Allidina Visram, Tudor Day, Emaan Girls and Khamis High School. We have also provided career guidance to Mvita Boys, Mbaraki Girls, Sheikh Abdalla Al- Farsy, Moi Forces Academy and Shika Adabu Secondary School

DIGITAL LITERACY

In an increasingly digital world, proficiency in computer skills has become a fundamental requirement for success in various aspects of life, from

education to employment. However, not everyone has access to resources or opportunities to learn these skills. To bridge this gap and empower individuals with the tools they need to thrive in the digital age, the “Empowerment through Technology” project has been initiated.

On 14th September 2024, we officially launched a fully equipped digital training center featuring computing devices, internet connectivity, and remote learning facilities. This initiative aims to empower youth, women, and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) with critical digital skills essential for

their academic, social, and economic advancement. Since the program’s

inception in June 2024, we have successfully trained 60 youths. Currently, we are targeting 75 participants per month, with three daily classes, each accommodating 25 students.

TUITION CENTRES

Our tuition program was officially launched on 10th May 2024 by H.E. Abdulswamad Sharrif Nassir, with the goal of providing free tutoring classes to high school students. This initiative is a partnership between

the County Government Department of Education, Tijara Youth Group

The Sharriff Nassir Foundation, and Abraar Muslim School.

To date, we have enrolled 75 students from various high schools, who

attend classes at our two tuition centers, Tijara and Abraar, from Monday to Saturday during the evening. The students are tutored by our members who recently graduated from high school with excellent academic performance. The program not only supports students in their academic journey but has also created employment opportunities for 15 of our

members through the Mombasa Yangu Program, an initiative by H.E. Abdulswamad Sharrif Nassir.“operational plan, leveraging partnerships, grants, and income-generating strategies.
